Regarding:  Spec Home Bids

Attention Electrical & Plumbing Contractors:

We are currently seeking bids on a spec home that will be built in the Spring of 2018 in New Hampton.  Plans are available at the New Hampton Economic Development office (112 East Spring Street).  We ask that you list your payment terms in your bid as well.  Since this is a spec home, many contractors are holding partial payment until the home is sold.

If you are interested in submitting a bid, we request you send it to: PO Box 435, New Hampton, IA 50659 or drop it off at the Economic Development office.  All bids are due by January 15, 2018.

National Manufacturing Month

Posted: Mon, October 9, 2017
Before Gov. Terry Branstad left Iowa to become the U.S. Ambassador to China, he and then Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds declared 2017 the Year of Manufacturing in Iowa. This initiative is focused on building a skilled workforce, promoting innovation and R&D, and improving the global competitiveness of Iowa manufacturers.

Manufacturing makes up the largest business sector of Iowa's Gross Domestic Product. Not only are manufacturers critical to our state's GDP, but these companies employ more than 200,000 Iowans. New Hampton is also driven by manufacturing with over 1,800 manufacturing jobs in our community of 3,600.

We're excited for all that is happening in Iowa, and specifically in New Hampton.  To honor the Year of Manufacturing and National Manufacturing Month (October), over the next month we will be showcasing New Hampton manufacturers on our New Hampton Economic Development Facebook page.  Stay tuned!
