Carnegie Cultural Center

Posted: Thu, July 23, 2015
The Chickasaw County Community Foundation is a local, non-profit, charitable affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.  Each year the Foundation committee hands out grants to local, non-profit organizations.  Throughout the year on our web site, www.newhamptonia.com,  we will try and feature the different organizations that received grants.   This month we visited Carnegie Cultural Center!

The mission of the Carnegie Cultural Center is to establish a vital presence of the arts, history, and cultural awareness for the benefit, enlightenment, and enjoyment of all Chickasaw County residents and visitors. The Carnegie Cultural Center is made possible through a public/private partnership between the City of New Hampton and the Carnegie Cultural Center, a private, non-profit corporation. It is governed by a ten member volunteer board of directors and currently managed by one volunteer administrator and one part-time paid staff assistant. The Carnegie Cultural Center is funded primarily by private donations and its activities are designed and implemented by volunteer committees.  Carnegie Cultural Center has been the recipient of many Chickasaw County Community Foundation grants and Hotel/Motel grants.

Carnegie Cultural Center is home to many different attractions & exhibits; history records of all sorts; and monthly temporary exhibits!  Visit http://www.carnegieculturalcenter.org/ for more information!
