City Parks
New Hampton has an outstanding parks system providing ever-expanding recreational opportunities for its residents. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 50 acres in the six city parks and provides recreational programs throughout the year.
One of the most widely used parks, Mikkelson Park, includes multiple playgrounds, baseball & softball fields, two tennis courts, a volleyball area, a disc golf course, and much more. Other park facilities include a nature trail, pond with fishing piers, native grass and wildflower area, winter ice rink and more playground areas, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, foot golf course, and open play spaces.

Or enjoy the 2 1/2 mile trail around our Mikkelson Park, Garnant Pond, and through some rural native area! The TRIBE Trail committee is working to connect the two trails and once the project is completed it will result in 6 miles of concrete pedestrian trail! Visit us on Facebook to see our progress!
